Our Story

The journey began in a basement apartment in Kansas City, Kansas in 1988. Ron “Earl” began creating original rubs to smoke meats and burnt ends for barbeques with family and friends. The intent was to, one day, enter The Great Lenexa BBQ Battle, but a move from Kansas to Arizona all but nixed the idea. An absence of hometown BBQ flavors created a cravin’ for a KC style sauce, so… in 1997 the original recipe for Earl’s Hard BBQ KC classic sauce was born! The spice-filled homemade rub, combined with a little known honey-based craft beer brings out rich sweetness to balance flavor. Family and friends would always say, “This sauce is like a rub. Where’d you buy it?” and the rest is history…

Texas Chipolte BBQ Sauce

Like the state, this sauce is large in flavor. A less sweet version of our K.C. Classic sauce with smoked hot chipotle peppers. This sauce will have you lickin’ your fingers! Excellent when paired with brisket, pork, chicken, burgers and even your veggies.

Alabama Style White Sauce

Our tribute to traditional Alabama creamy marinades. This sauce is rich and tangy with a hint of heat in the finish. Best for basting or paired with your smoked or fried chicken, wings, turkey or pork. You can also dunk your French-fried potatoes in this one!

Carolina Gold Honey & Spice

Experience a rich, tangy South Carolina German influence. Apple cider vinegar combined with mustard flavors complimented with the sweetness of honey and finishing with a smack of paprika. Try this sauce on smoky pulled pork butt or shoulder, brats, chicken, ribs or anywhere you might use yellow mustard.

K.C. Classic

Original Kansas City inspired flavoring. A dark spice-filled homemade rub base sauce with a rich sweetness to balance flavor and a zesty spice finish. Layered with flavor for your ribs, brisket, pork and chicken.
